Hello, potential Pitch Wars mentees!

My name is Pintip Dunn, and I’m so excited to be a Pitch Wars mentor this year!

A little bit about me…

I am the YA author of FORGET TOMORROW and THE DARKEST LIE, as well as the upcoming REMEMBER YESTERDAY. I graduated, magna cum laude, from Harvard University, with an A.B. in English Literature and Language. I then received my J.D. from Yale Law School, where I was an editor of the YALE LAW JOURNAL.

I’m represented by Beth Miller of Writers House. I’m a total foodie, and my top five favorite foods are: salmon toro sashimi, seared foie gras, raw oysters, roasted bone marrow, and champagne. I adore reality tv (Survivor, Top Chef, The Amazing Race, The Bacherlor/Bachelorette), as well as unReal (the show about the making of a reality tv show). I’m also obsessed with The 100. FINAL COVER

I understand well the long, hard road to publishing. Even after I landed my agent in 2011, I was on submission for three years with three different books before I finally sold. I received almost the same universal response on my books: “We love it, but we can’t buy it because of the market.” I persevered, however, and continued to write more books. In 2014, shortly after my third baby was born, I sold seven books in approximately seven months to two different publishers — Entangled TEEN and Kensington Publishing.

Just this past Saturday, FORGET TOMORROW won RWA’s prestigious RITA® award for Best First Book! This was an honor beyond my wildest dreams, and I’m still pinching myself. What’s more, the award was presented to me by Nora Roberts herself!

FORGET TOMORROW was also a Goodreads’ Best YA Book of the month (Nov. 2015). USA TODAY called it a “must-read YA,” and Buzzfeed said it will “have you on the edge of your seat.” FORGET TOMORROW has sold in three foreign territories outside of the U.S.: France, Turkey, and Brazil.

THE DARKEST LIE was a Top Pick from Romantic Times Book Review, who called it a

“heartbreaking novel . . . [with] a hopeful and moving narrative that will stick with readers.” School Library Journal proclaimed it an “exhilarating read,” and Booklist said “mystery fans will race through the pages.”

In addition to being a RITA® winner, I was also a RWA Golden Heart® finalist in 2012 and a double-finalist in 2014. I write both YA science fiction and YA contemporary thriller.

Because of my fibromyalgia/RSI, I cannot type on a keyboard without excruciating pain. Thus, I’ve written my last six books on my cell phone.

What I’m looking for:

A strong voice, high stakes, and complex characters! I’m willing to consider anything within the YA genre. However, I have a preference for anything contemporary and science fiction/speculative.
